Day 4 & 5, Two Uneventful Days, Not a Bad Thing
DAY FOUR
Day four was just a quiet drive through NE. We landed in the middle of nowhere in Elm Creek, Nebraska. The RV Park was just a big gravel lot, but had full hookups. We were happy to have those hookups after three nights without! We enjoyed a sunset, a shower, an attempted walk with Vlade, grilled burgers, and just relaxing outside with some music.
Here are some pics… enjoy!
Vlade went for a little walk (on a leash, always) in the RV “Park” in Elm Creek. It didn’t go well. There were cars going by that he was sure were out to get him. He freaked out a bit, and then it got even worse. He heard a big dog bark (the nerve!) from a couple sites down, and he lost his shit. Full on spaz out. He ran to the motorhome, I opened the door… and these bottles/cans we had sitting by the door looked like a predator too I guess. He ran into them, knocked them over, and was certain we were trying to kill him.
Here he is feeling betrayed and like he narrowly escaped three near-death experiences. Zero of which had been any actual threat to him.
SMH. This guy. He’s nothing if not entertaining.
DAY FIVE
Day five we drove from Elm Creek to Cheyenne, Wyoming. Another quiet day of driving; look at that open road below. Happy to get to explore a bit, we unhooked the car and went into town. Cheyenne is small, and pretty uneventful on a Monday night. The Train Depot/Downtown area is cute.
AND A CAT UPDATE
Well, the cats are definitely adjusting. After the first day when Patsy stayed in the little cubby hole of her cat tree ALL day, she’s been riding on the bed most of the days now. She seems a little happier there, although still not pleased. Vlade has stopped crying constantly (thank goodness!!) and now switches between being crazy and wandering all over trying to find trouble and sleeping on the floor right behind/under my seat. He is finding every single thing in the camper he can possibly climb up on top of and sit proudly.
Also, we gave in to Vlade and let him go on the dashboard while we are driving. As long as he doesn’t impede Mike’s view of the road we figure it’s not worth the fight. The more this little a-hole is told “no” about something, the more he obsesses about it.
This is an awesome blog. I think the sun in that photo was a fire scull cursing you! Yikes.
Right?!
Thanks for reading! 🙂

I love Vlade claiming the dash as his.
He looks very regal,
He wanted me to tell you he doesn’t just “look” regal!
Can’t wait for you to meet him!
